'We never really knew how to broach the subject' parents Barbra and Caleb explained, 'it just seemed like something he'd figure out for himself!'
Little Jimmy did not, however, 'figure' out his serious physical disability. He claims 'the thought hadn't even occurred to me. I always felt kinda different, but I thought that was a normal thing. If anything, feeling uncomfortable in my body and self-conscious about how people looked at me in the street was what made me a normal teenager. I guess I never thought my self-dislike had any real merit. This has all left me uncertain about everything!'
Jimmy's classmates explained that they assumed Jimmy was aware; the school's relentless political correctness strictures ensured no student ever mentioned his disability to Jimmy, but what appeared obvious to them had apparently slipped by there friend.
