Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said today that coalition government is better for Britain than single-party rule.
'I think we've conclusively demonstrated the value of a coalition,' he said. 'Looking at the state of Britain today, you can see - well, you get the idea.
'Anyway, the Lib Dems are despera - er, willing to form a coalition with whoever gets in next time, as we have no scruples at all. The principle remains that coalition government is best for Britain.'
When asked whether that principle included either Labour or the Conservatives forming a partnership with UKIP, or indeed with each other, Mr Clegg gave a carefully considered response of 'Of course not! It must include me me me!'
