A spokesman for Sinn Fein today responded to the conclusions of the Saville Inquiry into Bloody Sunday and stated that, whilst the certainty of the conclusions was to be welcomed, nonetheless the difficulties faced by the British Army were not fully recognised and that the day’s events were not quite as clear cut as Saville has concluded. The spokesman stated that whilst they criticised certain of the Army’s actions, the placing of the entire blame on the Army was “a little harsh”
