Thousands of poor people are eagerly anticipating the launch of a cheaper iPhone expected to be unveiled by Apple on Tuesday.
'I can't wait to get my hands on the iPhone 5C,' said a man leaving a Jobcentre Plus. 'We'll have to go without food for a month, but it will be worth it. I've got my mind set on getting a pink one.'
A Jobcentre Plus spokeswoman said she believed most job seekers will spend their benefits on the iPhone 5C.
A man - and a dog - selling the Big Issue outside Apple's Cardiff store, said he hoped to sell enough copies of the paper by next week to afford the iPhone 5C.
Meanwhile a Starbucks spokeswoman said the company was preparing for an influx of poor people with cheap iPhones.
