In a statement jointly issued on behalf of the players they represent, football agents have asked managers, chairmen and fans to celebrate the loyalty shown by those who didn’t manage to finalise a lucrative move away from their Clubs during the transfer window. Despite talk of disputes over team selection, speculation linking them with other Clubs and written transfer requests, the statement describes the players’ undying love for their Club and their willingness to give 110% for the team for the remainder of their contract. Or at least, until the transfer window opens again.
The players who previously expressed disappointment at the lack of quality signings joining their Club during the summer are apparently now delighted at the ambition of their Club to develop the potential of the young players coming through. While those who said that their current Clubs were holding them back and that they were good enough for a top Premiership team have recognised their arrogance and promised to work on developing their humility. And it has been revealed that those overseas players who stated a need to spend more time with their families in Barbados/The Seychelles/Hawaii just wanted a holiday.
