Prime Minister David Cameron is weighing up his chances for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio since last night’s vote on Syria qualified him to participate in the recently announced ‘Lame Duck’ classification.
Plucky Dave, 46, from Witney in Oxfordshire was upbeat about his chances despite the hammering he took on the floor of the Commons just hours before.
“I think there is a compelling case to show I can take on the world and represent Britain in Rio,” he insisted, despite being unable to provide any concrete evidence of his previous prowess in any sporting endeavour.
His loyal wife Samantha is being very supportive of the soon-to-be-ex-Prime Minister.
“After those awful shots of us on holiday in Cornwall, with Davie showing off his impressive ‘moobs’, I think the whole country knows that he would benefit tremendously from the exercise, as well as a break from front bench politics,” she cooed as she breezed out of Downing Street on her way to her corner shop, Fortnum and Mason’s.
Dave ‘The Caminator’ Cameron, as he has christened himself, has yet to decide in what events he will participate although there have been some suggestions that he is ripe for the long jump. The world will marvel at his rather novel technique of diving head first in to the pit and burying his head in the sand.
‘Cammie’ as he is known to his friends (not to be confused with madcap Sky pundit Chris Kamara) may well have quite a challenge in Rio as he comes up against some formidable opposition. Mo Morsi from Egypt will give him a run for his money as well as Syria’s ‘Bash’ al-Assad who has been making impressive strides in the category recently. However, his greatest threat might still come from the other side of the Atlantic where the US trials are still in progress and Barak ‘The Rack’ Obama is making a determined effort to qualify for the classification.
He will go to Rio with the whole of the country rooting for him, something that has sadly been missing during his political career.
Go Dave Go!
