Joe Public of Worthrop, Lincs, has decided enough is enough and has now officially changed his name.
"Years of media references to me, how uneducated, ignorant, oblivious and altogether ambivalent toward matters of importance I am, whilst somehow still being regarded as vitally important in dealings of such things as advertising have finally taken their toll" Joe said in a Facebook update, whilst amending his status from 'indifferent' to 'seeing how many shades of grey I can make with a HB pencil'
When last seen, Joe was writing his memoirs of the struggle to secure employment. "Given the general perception of me by (ironically) Joe public, as listed on Facebook, having a Doctorate in philosophy has brought me nothing save the tools to contemplate my predicament" he whined. "I would write to complain but who would take that seriously, if I even managed to find someone to address the complaint to!"
Due to the perceived lack of depth, motivation, intelligence, interest and drive that has become expected of him by potential employers, Joe has only ever succeeded in finding work in various customer service call centres.
Sadly for Joe, his new moniker of Dr Andy Medics has achieved no more than an inundation of invites to play gigs at student union bars, seeking renditions of 'Spirit in the sky'.
