Shadow Hospital Secretary Alan Brigham said: "I think there's definitely a need to shout louder, and speak in a way that captures how people are feeling and thinking. There's definitely a need to put our cards on the table."
However others in the party had reservations. "I know I said Labour was 'hesitant' and 'confused' because of Ed Miliband's failure to spell out a clear agenda to voters" said veteran backbencher Geoff Moody "But I am not convinced that this call for a revolutionary upsising of the proletariat is necessarily the right message to send out at this particular point in time. It might perhaps have been prudent to run it past a few focus groups first."
