The new Doctor Who is to be placed on a zero-hour contract when he takes over his duties from himself in the new year.
Under the terms of the contract, the Doctor will have to rescue the Earth and/or the universe when it is zero hour, and not before.
At a press conference, the Doctor admitted that this would make things much harder. 'Usually I go back in time and talk to myself so that when the time comes to carry out my inevitable rescue, I've already done it. This new contract will make things much more difficult.
'Or it would have done - if I hadn't gone forward in time, found out about the new contract, then gone back in time and told myself about it so that I could make the preparations for the contract which I knew was going to happen before it happened.'
