Almost the entire population of the world will not be tweeting today, in a mass protest against something or other. Probably the pointlessness of the very existence of Twitter. It is thought that this could spell the beginning of the end for the social networking site as the whole world realises that life exists outside of 140 characters.

Yup. I did notice that during the mass boycott of Twitter, world trade, commerce and industry ground to a halt, power stations shut down, 'planes fell from the sky and the planet ceased to rotate.
Perhaps a headline might be "Six Billion People Boycott Twitter: World Continues To Rotate" ?
