Now seriously thinking of forming Badults recovery group. New members welcome and promises of group hugs sans canned laughter...

Anyone seen Family Tree?
It's written/directed by Christopher "Nigel Tufnel" Guest and starring Michael "David St Hubbins" McKean.
Looks good. Sit-com slash mockumentary.

I've got the first series ("season"!) of Louie on DVD too, but I don't want to rush it.

Tempted to watch Family Tree but fear best bits may have been put in TV trailers - if wrong I'll take a look Golgo. Louie has passed me by - is it based on X Factor or French king?

"Louie" is the sitcom written/produced/edited/starring Louis CK (New York stand-up comedian).
I don't think it's been on UK terrestrial yet but they were flogging the DVD on Sainsburys online.
iTunes sells individual episodes if you're cautious.
Or YouTube his name to see some of his standup stuff for free.

Louie comes highly recommended. Smartest comedy on tv by a mile...edgy as well.

Thanks guys - I'll check out YouTube ;0)

I admire anyone who can sit down and write a sitcom. Unless it's shit.

I saw part of ‘family tree' last night. It seemed to be a pastiche of ‘who do you think you are?’ It was quite funny, but not in a belly-laugh way. I didn’t notice any canned laughter, but I only caught about 5 minutes of it.

@Wrenfoe : Oh please don't say "edgy"...

I watched Family Tree, with reasonable expections. Christopher Guest: tick. Chris O'Dowd: tick. But it was oddly laughter-free, and God knows why Nina Conte brought her ventriloquist's monkey into the action... unless it was the monkey's agent that got the gig.
It might improve, but I doubt it. It must be hard to top Spinal Tap...

Saw a bit, confused by the monkey, opened 2nd bottle of Claret (mistake) fell asleep. What happened?

What happened? I honestly can't remember. It just... ended...
