A new version of Tripadvisor is to be launched, enabling adult children who return to the parental home - so-called 'boomerang kids' - to write critical reviews of the services provided by their mothers and fathers and post them online.
'For years I've been relying on Bank of Mum and Dad,' said thirty-seven year old Peter Cox, who moved back in with his parents, George and Betty, just over two years ago on a temporary basis following a relationship break-up, 'so I feel it's only right to take advantage of Hotel of Mum and Dad too. That being so, a user-generated evaluation and five-star rating system is the next logical step.
'My morning tea is often late, personnel can be quite surly when I text down for room service, and wifi coverage is patchy, so I'm afraid No. 3 Partridge Villas will be getting only three stars from me, until they buck their ideas up!'
Asked to comment on their poor performance, George and Betty Cox were quoted as saying, 'We haven't got time to answer damn-fool questions. Peter will be home in two hours and we haven't ironed his underpants or prepared the quail's eggs for his supper yet.'
