People across the UK are reported to be delighted by the arrival of the latest Christmas catalogue from the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
With the unremitting hot weather, the thoughtful Charity has brought early seasonal joy to many households with images of a white Christmas and fun in the snow.
George Arrowsmith from Rotherham said, “I can’t understand why nobody has thought of this before. When the catalogue popped through my letterbox this morning all thoughts of the blistering heat went completely out of my head. It was packed full of gifts, cards, calendars and unusual presents for Christmas all depicted against snowy backgrounds. It certainly cooled me down no end.”
But its arrival in other parts of the country has made temperatures rise even further. Celia McBride from Ullapool in Scotland said, “We’ve not seen the sun at all this year so when a catalogue full of pictures of cutsie puppies and wee brats frolicking in the snow arrives on your doorstep the only thing you see is a red mist descending and it’s certainly not f**king Santa.”
Following the success of the Guide Dogs latest marketing venture other charities are likely to follow suit to ensure that the cooling effect continues right up to Christmas. Retailers are also reported to be gearing up to fill their stores with tinsel, trees and soothing and cooling Christmas carols in order to do their part for customers during the heat wave.
A spokesman for Guide Dogs said, “This success just goes to prove that a catalogue is not just for Christmas.”
