Responding to Poundland's removal of Chinese Lanterns from its shelves for reasons of public safety, BP announces withdrawal of petrol from forecourts. In a statement Retail Director, Catherine Randle said 'It has been brought to our attention that petrol is a highly flammable even explosive product which has been used as an accelerant in a number of arson attacks. Therefore in keeping with our social responsibility objectives we have decided to remove petrol from our forecourts with immediate effect. Anyone who has bought petrol from us may return it, along with proof of purchase, within the next seven days for a full refund'

Think how much safer the roads would be if they stopped selling motor vehicles.
And half the crime in the UK would be eliminated if they stopped selling knives.
With just those two obvious safety precautions, we could make 90% of all the police redundant and save a fortune on processing complaints against them.
