David Cameron has made a strong stand for arming rebel forces in Syria,
in a plan to flood the country with weapons to bring an end to violence.
With strong echoes of the "War against Terror", the PM's rationale is that
when everyone in the country has a gun, no-one else will get shot.
"The increased availability of arms & ammunition, from a simple handgun
right up to and including long range ballistic missiles, will ensure that
the fighting is brought to a peaceful and permanent conclusion" he announced
to a packed press conference earlier today, while flanked by senior
representatives of British Aerospace.
"Furthermore, we feel that it will be possible to extend this policy outside
the borders of Syria. I can see a future where every man, woman and child
carries guns, hand grenades and possibly shoulder-mounted RPGs, bringing
lasting peace to all previously stricken war-torn areas of the world."
