Nice one Smudge.
Great archive story about the canal police barge chase.

I'm perplexed. Was this supposed to have a link? Or is it flying so high over my head that I can't see it?
Front page, top right - "from the archives":
Arthur wants me to point out that he thinks the Canal Boat Chase was brilliant. It was one of the NewsBiscuit stories that kept him interested after his first profile was trashed by Admin.
He's still not received a reply to his latest request to Admin, by the way, but I regularly tell him about some of the funny stuff in the Chat Room and it seems to help keep his spirits up.
Thank you, all.
Just returned from 4 days on a canal barge in Midi where we were regularly overtaken by power walking young ladies. Speeding up to keep pace seemed a bit creepy.
A five minute jaunt up the tow path on bikes took half an hour to cover the same distance by boat. Mind you it was 14 tons of British steel so fair play really.
Last year, went on a mate's narrowboat from Oxford to Aldermaston - it took 4 days. Afterwards, got on a train at Aldermaston and were back in Oxford in 45 minutes. Merely emphasised Mrs Diamond's point that we had 'wasted' four days to travel such a short distance. The young Diamond and I enjoyed it though.
You've got a 14 ton bike?
