US state department officials have announced a major breakthrough in economic and political relations with the state formerly known as Iran. Under the new deal involving US computing giant Apple, restrictions on the export of i-Phones will finally be lifted and the middle-east state will henceforth be known as i-Ran. Other key re-brandings will include i-Yatollah, i-Slam and i-Mam.
"This is great news for ordinary citizens of our country" said Ahmad Masbah, Professor of Information Studies at Tehran University. "Now we can enjoy the one thing of value the West has to offer, whilst staying true to the deeply held cultural and religious values of i-Slam. And we've really put one over on i-Raq too."
Rumours of the launch of a specially re-branded version of soft drink Sunni Delight remain unconfirmed.
