Yellow Cards: Still 0
Sins: None so far today except for pinning somewhat over Victoria Coren and not sure that such a melancholic activity includes calorie intake so prob safe)
Johnny was his usual charming self last night. Would usually avoid his company but he was being v rude to people in the hotel foyer who were trying to enjoy the music concert on television, so attempted to engage him in conversation to distract him and thus save his poor victims from further inanities. Any warm and chivalrous feeling were soon dashed by being stuck listening to Johnny complain loudly about the hotel staff, the lack of a decent beach and not being able to watch 'Proper English Television'. Eventually managed to persuade David, Peter and Emile to let him join in the canasta game upstairs. Johnny not usually allowed to partake in any card games due to generally unpleasantness, chronic wind, etc - but promsed Emile that I would put in a good word with The Boss for the game against USA so he finally did the decent thing.
Not revealing to Johnny (or anyone else for that matter) that the iPad can get decent internet access from my room - able to catch up on the excellent 'Only Connect' on BBC4. Victoria Coren is alone worth the licence fee. God bless Aunties iPlayer too. Played along with the contestants but did not do v well - am distracted by homesickness - the questions about Alan Bennet talking heads made me pine for home.
Skype video chatted to Colleen and baby Kai. I know that he is too young to understand it but I read him a few pages of Wind in the Willows anyway. It's so important to read to children - Kai likes me doing the voices, and must admit I v much enjoy doing Stevens accent for the weasels - v unfair I know but amuses the son! Tried doing Jermaine's voice for Mr Toad - not sure the accent fits really but the disregard for the rules of the road most certainly do!
Johnny put something unspeakable into the Special K box this morning so have gone sans breakfast. Off to watch Steven bore the gathered journalists into a coma at the midday press conference, then few hours training. Not v glamorous so far - but nothing wrong with that.
Anyway, must dash.
