Eight piece 'anarcho-musical collective' The Swivel Eyed Loons are to reform for a one-off show at this summer's Glastonbury Festival. The self-styled 'cosmic jokers' say that they are 'chuffed to freaking bits' by the extra publicity gained over the weekend.
The band (the original name 'The Incredible Swinging Fire-Eating Sh*t-Stirring Swivel-Eyed Visionary Loonpant Community' was shortened at the behest of the record company, who didn't have a small enough font) last performed together at Stonehenge Festival in 1974, supporting Hawkwind. But it has been announced that they will headline the prestigious Scrumpy Stage in place of Arthur Brown.
Lead singer Zakki Zaphron declared that the show will be 'classic 'Loons maan!' and feature all the fan favourites, including 'You're a Hussy Mrs Karma, But I Love Your Despicable Masterplan' and 'Marrakesh Excess'.
'We're hoping to have a very special guest on the night' added Zakki 'Andy (Feldman) was always hanging out at our squat in Ladbroke Grove back in '72 - I bet he'd jump at the chance to leap up on stage for a couple of tracks.'
