Did anyone see Question Time from Ipswich last night? A rather desperate sounding woman who wanted to leave the European Union RIGHT NOW was fed up with far-off referenda and draft bills. She laid the blame squarely at the feet of Cameron, and his lack of leadership. In her frenzy, she suggested that the Conservative Party needed to ditch Cameron and get a proper leader like Gove in.
That is who it is, isn't it? It's Gove, right?
The audience reaction to her suggestion of Gove was also funny. A fairly unanimous boo ! Boris did better.
"Something for the Ladies - Woof!"
I felt really bad for her...There's always one or two audience members in any given QT that I feel so embarrassed for, I have to hide under a blanket, or change channels for 30 seconds...like if I can't see it, it eases their shame just a little...usually it's someone who is so nervous they can't make a coherent point, or they say something they immediately realise is bollocks and then can't decide whether to back down or defend their position...

It's a good job the other 50% can.
My kids pulled that exact same face when they were filling their nappies. Consequently I envisage him about to use that thing round his neck for the same purpose Gargantua preferred swans.
Cunt maybe...but the Right Honourable Cunt for Surrey Heath and still Secretary of State for Education....so fuck you loser.
Identity of the new Dr Who leaked...

Love rickwestwell's caption :D
There are no swivel eyed loonies here
Hmmm. A facially misfortunate geek, apparently unpopular with teachers (but then what Minister for Education isn't?) but actually seems content to work hard in his department and achieve something (whether you agree his aims are good or bad, effective or negligible) rather than sling out some soundbytes and tread water whilst waiting to move on to a better job.
I find it hard to lampoon this particular one- I think he is actually trying.
Whoa! Ironduke I do so love a Gove fan. No wait. You're a bit equivocal to start with, "geek" and all that, but....nah you're having a laugh....
Gove is an ideologue living in a fact free world.
As a School governor, Gove is not exactly a pin-up, unless it's to throw something at his image.
To be fair, every incompetent fool that lands the DofE job has shuffled the pack to benefit their career with the apparent intention of benefitting the kids. In truth, it takes a vast effort for the teachers, governors & especially the Head to adapt these half thought through crazy ideas without messing up the kiddies education. The benefit ? None, just another bit of cost cutting.
Our teachers, btw, work 10-12 hours/day, and spend much of their holiday planning & preparing.
me school gov too. We're now an academy and we can do stuff more easily. Big progress under new head. How much of that is Gove's influence? I think some, at least. Seems there is a drive to progress; 3years is not long enough to judge it either way though. at least there has been consistency, which is something.
@ Sinnick - "Our teachers, btw, work 10-12 hours/day, and spend much of their holiday planning & preparing".
Oh the fucking irony!
