A forty year old IT engineer, and part time wargames aficionado, has gone into protective custody after apparently being groomed by a Somerset schoolgirl, Leanne Gibbs. The engineer, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was reported to have said that he was duped into believing Gibbs was a 42 year old data analyst from Slough.
'She said her name was Mike and asked if I fancied meeting up for some Dungeons and Dragons. At first I said no because my Mum said that there were people out there who wanted to take advantage of people like me, but I waited till Mum's bedtime then agreed to meet up. I was shocked to find a young girl but she told me everything would be alright before putting a stanley knife to my throat and forcing me to go to the corner shop to buy her two cans of cheap cider and some cigarettes.'
The IT expert later added, 'I felt used and so dirty but if speaking out stops someone else from making the same mistakes, then that's something - isn't it?'
Police are warning others who work in the IT programming industry and data analysts to be weary, and to always go these types of pre-arranged meetings with responsible adults.
