A 42 year old shop assistant from Swansea yesterday tried politics and discovered that it just wasn't for her.
The mum of two said, 'Some of my colleagues were having a conversation about George Osborne during our break and I said that I thought he was alright. Well they laughed and were rude and used facts to tell my why I wrong. It was mortifying."
This was not the first time the 42 year old who can't be named for legal reasons tried politics. As a teenager she had written to her local MP about dolphins being caught in tuna nets. The MP never responded.
Prof Paul Caplow, Chair of Psychology at the University of Glamorgan said:
"Politics is related to self-awareness. The less self-awareness you have the more likely you'll become involved in politics. In fact you'll find some of the UK's most self confident people elected to local authorities the length and breadth of the country."
