"The economy has clearly been stagnant for ages. This is actually worse than any single-, double- or triple-dip recession, any of which which would have implied that there had actually been one or more periods of signifcant growth.
However I keep hearing my colleagues in the media chattering away. parrotting the phrase "triple-dip-recession" even though I suspect that most of them have even less idea than I have as to what the phrase really means.
I want to sound trendy and I don't want to be left out, so I repeat the same phrase myself at every possible opportunity, especially when being interviewed on radio or TV, and it works - I am respected and regarded as an expert on the economy."
