Professional headline maker and political distraction Abu Qatada was cock-a-hopp yesterday after landing a top role in a West End play.
The beardy terrorist is to play himself in a West End stage production of the celluloid classic Ace in The Hole. The film told the story of how a man trapped in a confined space becomes a story that is too good to be allowed to end.
Qatada was hooking the air in delight as he celebrated his first ever part in a theatre production. But the joy was mixed with trepidation as he realised the enormity of what he was taking on.
"Yes, I'm a bit nervous," he told The Stage magazine, "but I'm reasonably confident I know my lines. Death to the Infidel!"
