Unlike his co-host Phillip Schofield he didn't take drugs during his time as a children’s television presenter, and booze just went 'straight through him'.
He revealed: “It wasn’t a case of hiding it. I did the same as everybody else Kermit, Fozzy Bear, and Sooty, they all had a hand in it, so to speak. Sooty is also known to have developed a bad oofle dust habit."
"We were young; we partied a bit, but we didn’t hide anything. It’s just that nobody bothered to look in the right place, under the table mostly."
"Pinky and Perky were just as bad. They were into bondage, they had a need to be tied up with string."
"Morph, and the entire cast of 'The Magic Roundabout' all lacked any real backbone and allowed themselves to be put into a series of difficult situations by unseen manipulators. It all happened very slowly, bit by bit."
“Both Orville and Cuddles have claimed they were unable to speak out about what was going on, because Keith Harris used to put words in their mouths."
He added, "You have to remember that doing kids TV then, we were just puppets. Now, with CGI and computer technology, children's TV characters can be much more open, and have a proper second life. "
