Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, last night shocked the country when he said he was beginning to agree on much of what Thatcher did in her time in Downing Street.
In the past Mr. Clegg, a teenager through most of her reign had frequently criticized her lack of understanding the human suffering she was causing. Now, after a few years in government, the deputy Prime Minister has decided that the working class probably deserved it, saying ‘about the only thing I dislike about her now is that she stuck to her principles. Who does that?’
‘When you’re on the ground, talking with actual human beings it is easy to think that the lower class can be good and decent people who simply need help but as soon as you shut yourself in a big fancy houses and speak exclusively to millionaires you see why they are filth, always demanding luxuries like food, warmth and shelter.’
‘She did a great deal to eradicate them, taking away their milk so they would grow weak, taking away their playing fields so they would grow fat, taking away their income so they would grow destitute and taking away their hope so they would grow into drug addicts. By the way they turned taking cocaine into something bad, that was our thing, that was an MP thing and they ruined it.’
‘It is in her memory I increase tuition fees to take away their education, raise their rent to take away their homes, privatize the NHS to take away their health and I swear, as God as my witness [I flipped flopped on his existence too], I will get our cocaine back.’
‘Rest now sweet Maggie, know that the good works you began will continue, and know that I will not rest until the human disgraces are burning beside you. Hail Thatcher!’
