Oh the ignominy of it. Tried checking the Times online for weather updates and the internet wasn't there. Popped on the TV to try Sky for their weather and that wasn't working either. Phoned them up and apparently they haven't received the last 3 months payments we made. I’ve been cut off! This really won’t do at all. It’s all Elizabeth’s fault, no doubt. Have settled the bill with them after a protracted exchange of opinion, apparently people who work for Sky do not seem to care that I have met Rupert Murdoch on a number of occasions, socially and business... though, of course, not for many years.
Somehow have managed to work out an excellent deal on the phone. My usually package and a free upgrade to include the cricket (well, all sports) and a whole host of other high brow channels. I think it was free, well its free for the first month anyway. I’ll take a look at what the other channels are about later today – not a lot on, recess, you know. Could be out and about I suppose, drumming up support for the party, seeing if Andrew Marr might be interested in an interview with me (v strange man, him, not me) or popping into the office but seems a bit cold out, might snow. Better I pop the old feet up.
Where has the time gone! Quite lost myself in Australian Celebrity Work Out and something called Extreme Fishing with someone from the North. Good lord its nearly 4pm. I partly blame the pizza delivery man who was over 10 minutes late. Will have to hide that particular evidence from Elizabeth...
Found a good way to recoup earlier losses and get back on track to only spending £53 pounds this week; apparently there are shops which let you transfer gold for cash in many high streets. A quick look in the loft and found my mother’s trinkets, must be worth a few bob. Very good thought indeed selling gold, gives me an idea.
Just got off the phone to George who agreed was a top notch plan but he’s just checked and UK seems out of gold. Apparently last chap sold it all, which seems a bit short sighted of him. Trust a labour government to get rid of the family silver, or gold in this case, v bad decision that, wouldn’t catch the coalition falling for that, although have doubts about that Liberal Alexander chap at Treasury. Seems could be Scottish. Will ask Theresa to check his status.
£150 is not a bad days work! Covered the taxi into town and recouped all the bad luck of the week, except some of the bad luck which I have done sterling work in wiping out. Turns out the gold for cash shop are good people to ask for financial advice, they let me know about this http://www.wangle.com website which will give you money if a chaps a bit short that day. Capital idea. Have asked for a full thousand, no questions asked, used Elizabeth’s M&S card details for that as seem to have mislaid my own. Just realised pun; capital idea. Have made a note of that in my little blue book of speech jokes and ad-libs. Party conference could be a real win.
Found my debit card, was in my wallet. Spoke to George again, he thinks this wangle website sounds very good idea, even better, last lot didn’t ever use it. We’ll try and push David on this next cabinet meeting. Great day over all, my £53 target will be a synch!
