Japanese scientists have found a link between male baldness and heart disease. Extensive clinical studies have found a proven link between a thinning crown and the likelihood of an early death through cardiac arrest.
But British scientist Mike Simpkin-Thomas says the study doesn’t go far enough. ‘It isn’t falling hair that’s the problem, it’s an absence of hair. Men who shave their heads are also at risk. Women who shave off their lady-gardens are in danger. Basically we should all be as hairy as possible, like our cave-dwelling ancestors. The cult of the plucked and the shaved must end. We aren’t chickens.’
Celebrity baldy Bruce Willis said he would be ‘doing a Rooney’ as a result of the study. ‘It’s well scary,’ he said. ‘The billiard-ball look must go.’
