Department of Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith says he could live on air.
Asked on the Today programme if he could live on air, Mr Duncan Smith took a deep breath and said, 'Yes, if I had to.'
The claim has shocked scientists who believe that a grouse a day, water, and a fortune of at least £1m are necessary to keep Mr Duncan Smith alive.
Now he has hit back at critics who have challenged his claim.
'What's so outlandish about my claim that I could live on air?' he said.'Look at those people who say they could live on £53 a week- now how weird is that?''
