Staff at a Liverpool based Harvester restuarant were amazed at the announcement yesterday that they had won a coveted Michelin Star.
Head Chef, Simon Gillespie who has trained under some of the world’s top chef’s at Burger King, McDonalds and KFC said, “I’m just gobsmacked to get a star, it’s fantastic. It’ll certainly put us on the map and hopefully attract a few footy celebrities like Suarez and Gerrard especially for our 2 for 1 Sunday lunch offer.”
Restaurant manager, Lillian Derby said, “I’m really made up. We had no clue whatever but there was a cocky little man in here a couple of weeks ago who had a funny French accident. I just thought it was someone from Bootle taking the piss.”
The restaurant was especially commended for its boil-in-the-bag Gourmet Chicken and Rice as well as its Caribbean spiced potato wedges.
Mr Michelin, from Speake said, “The service was piss poor, the food was cold and there was muck and shite all over the table from the previous sitting. The only saving grace was the wife’s chicken and rice and the wedges which the kids polished off between them. When we left I put one star in the visitor’s book and asked for a refund on the Knickerblocker Glory which was frozen solid.”
