Intiguing pun - might be worth working up into a coherent story?

I didn't know if anyone would get the forced adoption story!
Thanks for the comment.Posted 3 months ago # -
Top topicality.
I woke up this am listening to the story. Bloody amazing! One woman's story: She was locked up when pregnant and her baby taken away at birth. She was 17 1/2, living with the baby's father and planning to get married with her parent's concent. It appears her crime was being pregnant before 18. She was kept sedated for months and released when she was 18. After 25 years she was reunited with her son. She is still married to the father. How could this happen in the 1960s in a civilised country like Austrai... oh hang on.Posted 3 months ago # -
Thanks to both of you who got it - I guessed not many would know about this story.

What's an Australia?

It's the big hot thing I'm standing on. Haven't worked out what it's for yet.

Here's one part of British/Australian history I have never understood.
All of the criminals and unsavouries we had on this over-crowded little island with a generally miserable climate, we sent over to the spacious warm country. I think we got that the wrong way round.

And the ones that come back we keep behind bars

NA. hahahaha!
MD. I have a friend or 2 in Brisbane. Strikes me that it is either on fire or under water. Can't see the attraction myself. And don't get me started on skin cancer. Mind you its not all bad. They do have shite wine and deadly spiders too.Posted 2 months ago # -
No-one's died from a spider bite in years, although there are admittedly lots of them and they're not great to look at.
Snakes, they're the buggers. Had one in our house last week, the snake catcher came round but couldn't find it. Not really sure how hard he looked. Only charged us half the fee, for not finding it. I thought "I could not find a snake for a lot cheaper than that, mate", but I didn't say anything in case it leapt out before he went.

Old joke: "We Aussies were lucky. We just got the criminals; the Amercicans got the Puritans."
