Religious indoctrination is inadequate in ninety-eight percent of secondary schools, according to Catholic watchdog OfTed who visited 1830 primary and secondary schools.
The Church of England said they, however, were comfortable that the report showed most schools covered RE in the wishy-washy half-baked way fundamental to the CoE.
Cardinal O'Donohue, spokesman for Catholic Boys and Girls Redemption, expressed his church's concerns. 'It wouldn't be quite so bad, except the two in one hundred schools meeting indoctrination standards are either Muslim or Jewish.'
