A proposal to erect a statue of David Cameron in his Witney constituency is being strongly opposed by anti-litter groups.
The statue's supporters say it is to commemorate the fact that Cameron is the youngest British Prime Minister since the Earl of Liverpool 198 years earlier.
A Downing Street spokesman said the prime minister supported the statue idea 'if it will help inspire the people of Oxfordshire as his visit to Libya so inspired the Libyan people'.
But an opponent of the statue claimed that he'd already seen people in Witney practising kicking and throwing shoes at statues in the town.
Joan Hill of Keep Witney Tidy, said: 'We've got a big enough job in Witney clearing up dog turds without this.'
