Works well as a shorter piece (as I suggested) and cutting a paragraph that said a similar thing whilst ending on The other (like I suggested) And the change of names (like I suggested) and including some of the tightened text (That I suggested and put in my suggested rewrite that was then edited into the original article and used in the NiB)

Does this not qualify me for a hat-tip?

So what is it with this place. Obviously having someone else's name on an Oxbridge masterpiece is like putting shit in the toilet wall, it's generally not the done thing.

This is the original http://newsbiscuit.com/forum/topic.php?id=57024 .

I have tried to always be honest here. If I think something is good I have said, if I think something has not been good I have said, but I have always done it honestly. People don't always like but I am true to myself.

Over the last few weeks I have been called a cunt by shaggy for daring to give feedback on Mr loverlover's comedy genius.
    http://newsbiscuit.com/forum/topic.php?id=56816
If you read what I said I was actually trying to offer advice. Then I spent the next few days putting up with abuse from him and Tripod, someone who has become some sort of moderator deciding who can and cannot have an opinion. Although he never complained when I said I liked done of his pieces.

Although I admit I rose to the abuse a little, I stayed pretty calm and tried to explain that I was giving an opinion.

Then when I really put time and effort saying what I thought if Oxys piece and what I thought would work better, when it get used, including some of my ideas and bits I had rewritten there is no credit given. Even Oxys response to me felt a bit cold.

So I think fuck it, I'm not bothering any more. I can't be arsed to play games in an open forum where it's not that open and any form of opinion is shot down if its not 'brilliant 5 stars LOL' and when a real effort to help with a piece is ignored.

I'm off to the spoof, now the idiots are trolling there half thoughts and vicious chat here, it may have become a bit more welcoming over there

    Fuck you all

    The 'Cunt'.

Well, this must be the first flounce we've had for quite a while?

Come back Lens Cap, not all of us think you are a c*nt.

Hmm, a bit cold was I? Well, not wanting to hold grudges or anything, but it's not so very long since Lens Cap led the onslaught against my Pistorius/John Terry one liner both in chat and the original thread. But anyway, you're welcome to a hat tip as far as I am concerned, it's really up to the editor who's on Nibs this week. Now please do unflounce yourself, it's only spoof news.

Lens, let me give you a bit of friendly advice you daft cunt.

Nobody really wants feedback, they just want confirmation that the sub/one-liner/incoherent thought they posted is every bit as funny as they thought it was when it popped into their head.

Where's the fun in putting something forward for public consumption if the reaction, instead of everybody telling you that you're a comedy genius, is for some 'helpful' sod to come along and calmly explain how you could make it better? A little deflating don't you think?

If people went around listening to honest feedback when it was given then they might improve. But to improve they'd have to admit that they're not perfect already, and who wants to do that?

I think (from my albeit miniscule experience) that hat-tips generally follow contribution of a new funny line. I vaguely remember getting one for a duffle coat years ago.

I think Len's comments were pertinent and valid, but were more along the lines of editting advice rather than new funnies- I don't think switching Scudamore for Stanley (though sensible) counts as a new funny, and the rest is good editting rather than new funny.

And I think, as a general rule, if editting got you a hat-tip, then whoever was editting would get hat-tips most of the time.

And speaking as someone who'd had a flounce of their own in their time, and got dispirited about posting, I think actually good writing generally wins out and bias is, in the most part, perceived rather than real.

Still think my Libya one was a cracker though. Sniff. Bastards. Pour me another, barkeep.

If this is what you mean Oxy, then 'leading an onslaught' is a tad melodramatic. I said, albeit in a sarcastic way, I thought it was bad taste. I was being honest. Some agreed, some didn't. But as I have said it is never personal which is why I gave the feedback on your bookies sub. Because I thought it was a great idea but had scope to be improved.

But you highlight the problem. People see a name on here and base thought on that. I sti think you Pistorius sub was in very bad taste but to say it led an onslaught is you thinking that because it was me. Read it again and you'll see I'm right . What you will also see I moderator Tripod agreeing with me about the taste but saying its an invalid opinion because I don't post anything funny.

I don't expect you to agree, that's not how it works And you come across as a bit stubborn but to hold a grudge when someone is acting in the spirit of the site is a tad pathetic

An excellent flounce, Lens, though if you'll accept a little criticism it could be a tad shorter. And then you revisit it, which somewhat spoils the effect. It's like storming out the door then coming back for your handbag.

I should mention the typo "sti" meaning "still" in the penultimate paragraph, which I'm sure you won't mind my pointing out.

Oh, and don't forget to credit me with this feedback ;-))

All this flouncing and then coming back for one last word is a bit, well, girlie isn't it?

It was a well structured flounce: not petty, to the point, and avoided any childishness.
Don't go spoiling it, but I'd rather you didn't go Lens, I actually find your honest comments far more beneficial than the sycophancy often displayed.
