The election of the next Pope has been thrown into doubt because of the ban on smoking in public buildings. "Petty European laws are discrimination against the Catholic church.", complained one Cardinal. "It's one thing after another; gay marriage, contraception, no-smoking, frowning on paedophilia. It's not like there's any other way of announcing who's won an election."
