The Government announced today that it has acted quickly to address the public outcry over the detection of horsemeat in so many “Ready Meals”. Analysis by DEFRA has identified that as horsemeat is not acceptable to the British public and that a source of cheap meat is needed to feed the proles, they have today announced that the Badger Cull can go ahead.
A government spokesperson said, “… this decision addresses a number of problems at the same time. Bovine TB will be eliminated, farmers happy, firearms enthusiasts “occupied” and, as we never test for Badger meat in any Ready Meals, we create a new source for low cost value range products”.
Wildlife organisations were more sceptical about the plans but did welcome the re-introduction of value range basics Lasagne and Spaghetti Bolognese.
