Ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair says he is not yet ready to buy a house in Iraq.
'Life in Iraq is not what I hoped it would be when I invaded the place 10 years ago,' he told BBC Newsnight. ' I wouldn't buy a palace there at the moment.'
Mr Blair was speaking on the up-coming 10th anniversary of the US -led invasion of Iraq.
'Anyone thinking of buying a second-home in Baghdad,' he said, 'should bear in mind that although life has improved since I got rid of Saddam Hussein, it still isn't as good as Islington.'
Mr Blair is advising potential house buyers to wait 'until things quieten down a bit more'.
'Then,' he added,'like me, you'll make a killing.'
