But that's absolutely right. A Sheffield-based robot used by the police to check bombs has now done the same for cakes - and has got some too!
Known affectionately as 'Jerry', the Samsung G89 is involved with the Veteran Cakes company. And it's all thanks to his owner, Gary Harris.
Gary confessed to being pleased.
Jerry will take his own cake after he has carried cakes to a sheltered housing scheme in Mullich - where it can hand them out!
The friendly electrical helper found 90 bombs in a long career in Iraq and elsewhere.
The army made Jerry an honorary soldier in 2009.
