Or could it be decided by a referendum run alongside the by-election.
Who gets you vote ?
I've got a good idea who got second place.
I vote for me. I’ve got experience in the position of WoM having served two separate terms and feel that I could bring a lot to the role. Plus many of my recent FPs have attracted favourable comments in the chat room about the high standard they have set.
If elected I promise to write stories so staggeringly unpopular that there will be no danger of the site crashing due to a higher than normal number of visitors.
Well in that case, vote for me. I have a track record of unpopular articles. Just look at my current Boris NiB as conclusive evidence.
I vote for Wayland's Rock. Loads of interest in that and the story's not finished yet.
What? That’s no reason to vote for you. You’ve got no experience of the role and nothing to offer. If you’re already writing unpopular stories then where’s the motivation to vote for you just so that you can continue to do so?
I have proven on more than 2 occasions (but less than 4) that I can write stories that attract a lot of visitors to NB. If you don’t vote for me then I might just have to take drastic action and undermine the site by making it popular.
A vote for VCG is a vote for change. Or staying the same, you know, whatever suits you. Just vote for me ok?
No motivation! That's scandalous electioneering.
I am so forward thinking I am writing unpopular articles now that can sit in the writers room and get used in the future when it looks like we may be getting popular.

Tough call...there's nothing in it.
You're both in with a shout.

I'm afraid that Winner of the Month was won by Michael Winner
Surely by now it's my turn?
Or a long service award or something?!

I will toss my hat into the ring. I have held WoM office before and have experience of coalition WoM government (with the right honourable Des) which, as I believe I said at the Cheshire Cheese Conference, is a unique feat.
The fact that Rebecca lives within my constituency pretty much clinches it.
Stan, I don't think you can use being in a coalition as a selling point. It's like Nick Clegg standing as an independant saying 'it's OK, I've done this before'
I think my non-humorous contributions stand out in a league of their own. Not to mention my creeping. (Damn, I just mentioned it)
OK, The votes are in, and they have both been counted. Here's the moment you have all been waiting for.
The Winner of January's writer of the month is....
