A bird has triumphed in the North of England.
The feathered thing has been recognised for its efforts by the North's biological mayor, Alan Pander, who presented it with a necklace.
Jewellery makers Tantins cast the gem-set object. The company is to display a stunning range of Topaz sprinkled bangles and such at this year's Runcorn event.
The bird will be carved and served by Rector Howard Ypres during this Sunday's delayed Harvest Festival dinner at Oldham's Apple Store community centre.
