Congratulations to Genghis Cohen a.k.a Jonathan Childs who has completed the coveted hattrick of Writer of the Month awards, putting him up there with the all time greats alongside Mary Evans and Brazil.
Among his many fine pages were 'Al-Qaeda designers launch summer bomb-vest range' and 'Catholic church to combat 'sexual predator' choirboys with burqas' which was accompanied by a fantastic picture by Red (who himself had a great front page with 'Guardian in merger talks with Telegraph')
Other great contributions in May came from Ian Slatter, Des Custard and Oxbridge, with a very promising debut from 'Jimmy' who promptly disappeared to concentrate on moving house. A late reappearance from Darkbill produced a couple of fine FPs while there were a couple of classics from Ludicity - a special mention should be made for his 'Synthetic life form accuses God of 'playing science' which was tweeted by Richard Dawkins himself resulting in a huge spike for visits to the site.
Thanks to former award winners who ran the News In Brief section this month - Genghis, Paper Ostrich, Ianslat and Ludicity and thanks to everyone who submitted a story or one liner.
Will the second ever WoM hattrick tempt Mary Evans out of retirement to compete for the NewsBiscuit super-mug trophy? Will there be a new name in the hall of fame or a new hattrick winner in Darkbill, Ludicity or NealDoran or JP1885? Will England win the World Cup? No of course they won't. But at least there'll be a laugh or to about it on the NewsBiscuit front page...
