"Companies must pay tax according to the tax laws which we ought to pass" insists minister. "They should not take the piss by only paying tax based on the existing laws."
"One excuse is the complexity of the tax laws, so we are adding 143 new regulations and 1,500 extra pages to the legislation in order to simplify it and make it easier to understand."
One company CEO said "We already have to pay our accountants £1.7M every year simply to explain the existing regulations to us. I accept that it is very wicked of us to ask the accountants, while they're at it, to tell us if we're paying more tax than we need."
