After a pop-up advertisement for Tesco's pet insurance inadvertently appeared on the satirical news website NewsBiscuit, regular contributors have criticised the mid-market horsemeat purveyor chain for making it all a bit too easy for them to trot out some old puns.
'I laughed myself hoarse when I saw that one after the kicking they got last week,' said originality-challenged pensmith Oxbridge, 49. 'I mean, gee, gee, I thought they'd have had their filly of equine puns by now, but neigh, neigh, there's more fodder for us here. Silly burgers. What a mare, still ... er, colts, bridle, off the rails ... um, hang on I'm sure I can think of some more, give me a minute.'
Tesco CEO Terry Leahy could not be contacted for comment as he has been projectile vomiting value burgers all weekend.
