Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was said to be furious with match referee Mark Clattenburg for making his side wait nearly 3 minutes for their first penalty during the FA Cup encounter with Fulham at Old Trafford.
Ferguson said he would be reporting Clattenburg to the FA for his lackadaisical performance in not awarding the home side more penalties in the opening 180 seconds, insisting United should have been at least 3-4 goals to the good before Ryan Giggs slotted home from the penalty spot.
The Manchester United manager stated in the match programme he had already decided his team would lift the FA Cup at Wembley on 11th May and did not expect referees to make things difficult for him.
Ferguson claimed that being expected to play other teams on the road to Wembley was inconvenient enough for his side without having to wait nearly three minutes for crucial refereeing decisions to go their way.
Man Utd are expected to be drawn against non-league Luton in the next round
