Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has said he kicked a Swansea ball-boy in the stomach at last nights Capital One Cup semi final because he was Welsh and not because he refused to let go of the ball.
The FA have accepted Hazard’s explanation for kicking out at the youth saying they fully understood the reason behind the Belgian's violent conduct and have decided not to take any further action.
Millions of people watching on TV were outraged at the sight of Hazard kicking the ball-boy in the stomach until summariser Alan Smith let slip that the boy was actually from the Swansea area and so probably deserved it.
It seems referee Chris Foy was equally outraged at Hazard’s behaviour admitting to Sky Sport’s Martin Tyler that he sent the midfielder off for ‘not kicking him (the boy) hard enough while he had the chance’.
PFA chief Gordon Taylor was also quick to defend Hazard saying the boy ‘had clearly been Welsh all night long and had made no attempt to hide it and he would have done exactly the same under the circumstances’.
Hazard said on Twitter that he had been ‘touched’ by the support he had received from people around the country.
‘Most of the well-wishers don’t actually follow football and most had never even heard of me before last night ‘said Hazard ‘but as soon as they discovered the boy with the fractured rib-cage was Welsh they say they simply had to show their support’.
Swansea are now set to meet Bradford Bulls in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley on March 22nd

I heard that the boy's got an offer from Juventus so he'll be even more deserving of a good kicking

Great.
[typo 1st line, should be "ball-boy"]Posted 3 months ago # -
Nice one. If I can be a little pedantic it's the 'Capitol One Cup', or League Cup if you don't want to reference the sponser
