A leading White House representative has denied accusations that President Obama lip-synched his way through the entire eight minutes of his inauguration speech at the weekend.
President Obama was officially sworn in for a second term of office on Sunday in front of over 900,00 people crammed into Capitol Hill
Onlookers in the front few rows and millions watching on TV said the President appeared to be out of synch with many of the words coming from his mouth.
But White House officials insisted the President had spoken the words live and it was the American people – especially those in the mid-west – who were out of synch with the President.
However, officials were at a loss to explain what appeared to be a farting noise half way through the speech saying they thought it could have come from Congressman Chuck Schumer who was spotted standing behind the President’s wife with the sort of self-satisfied grin usually associated with someone who has let one slip in a crowded lift.
Schumer, who has a history of talking through his arse on Capitol Hill denied the accusation saying ‘sorry guys, but not me...not this time. Sure, I heard the fart too but take a look at the picture....I’m not the only one grinning. The President needs to look a little closer to home on this one’.
Although no one on the podium has owned up to the low rumbling bottom cough officials say the fart noise is proof that the President was indeed talking live throughout the whole eight minute speech and nothing was pre-recorded.
Apart from Beyonce’s risible rendition of The Star Spangled Banner which everyone agreed was nothing but one long farting noise from beginning to end.
