Double Olympic gold-medallist Mo Farah found himself facing plagiarism charges today as 1970s disco act, The Village People, announced they were planning to sue over Farah’s popular ‘Mobot’ celebration.
‘Biker’ from the band stated that Farah had clearly stolen the Mobot from the moves that complement the hit song, Y.M.C.A.
In a statement directly addressing Farah and with accompanying background music, he said: “Young man, you have copied our move. Yes, young man, don’t be stealing our groove. I said, young man, you may be famous now. But young man, that M is our cash cow. Without the M we just have, Y.C.A. And that just makes no sense, Y.C.A. You have to redeem yourself, put the M back on the shelf and we’ll be on our way with the Y.M.C.A.”
Farah did not respond to the claims directly, but his spokesperson stated that Farah would continue to wave his hands in the air like he just doesn’t care.
