Hundreds of people who complained to the BBC about seeing a character dressed as disgraced TV presenter Jimmy Savile on CBeebies this morning are still struggling to explain what they were doing watching children’s TV say the Metropolitan Police.
People on social networking sites such as Twitter and FaceBook admitted to watching the children’s TV programme while eating their breakfast cereal, some dressed solely in their underpants or jogging bottoms.
Police believe the people concerned may be part of a much wider paedophile ring who ‘get off’ on channel hopping on kiddies TV and that watching The Tweenies may be just the tip of the iceberg.
‘We are particularly interested in talking to one character who claimed to have ‘choked on his cornflakes’ when the Savile character appeared’ said DCI Ray Beesley, head of Operation Yewtree ‘well, I think we all know what he meant by that.
You don’t have to be sitting in front of the TV with your underpants on your head to work that one out’.
A spokesperson for the BBC said the corporation did not realise CBeebies was watched by the sort of filth that constantly use social networking sites to communicate and may consider airing the children’s channel after the 9 o’clock watershed when such scumbags are downloading porn or showing off their genitals to one another on Skype.
But Tell-Tale Productions, makers of the popular TV programme defended the content of the show saying the episode was produced back in 2001 when nobody could possibly have known what a nonce the serial sex offender would turn out to be.
