Boeing say a new service aimed at their less safety conscious passengers could be up and running as early as the weekend.
Guy Francis said that Boeing’s Flatliner – their budget ‘wing and a prayer’ trans Atlantic service will bypass all current safety checks and just go for it.
The aircraft, which has a history of fuel leaks, electrical fires and brake problems was passed unfit for service earlier today and the first flight should be ready for take-off around the same time as the first winter blizzards are due to hit UK runways.
Boeing says it had over 50 Flatliners on their books when the aircraft was first introduced in 1979 but only 12 can still be accounted for.
‘But the good news is that they’re all here....in the UK’ said Mr.Francis ‘and as soon as we can find a pilot sober enough for take-off then we’re back in business. And here he is.
Excuse me Sir....that’s a broom cupboard....the cockpit’s over here.
He’ll be all right, just keep feeding him black coffee and keep him awake ...just don’t let him open a window this time....tell him to use an ash-tray’.

V. good! I'm sure it could be developed further in the news story style and maybe not go into a sketch at the end.

Indeed - stars from me for the brief brief snort with everything deleted after 'back in business'. Bloody funny shortie.

5* Love the ‘flatliner’ name. Rumours abound that Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty and Leslie Nielsen are crew members.
