Historians studying Adolf Hitler's early career have discovered that he applied to be a traffic warden - "because of the uniform". However, according to records of the interview, he was turned down because of his height. "His attitude and enthusiasm for the job is first class.", reads the report, "But he really needs to be quite a bit shorter to be ideal for the position."
